Samarkand to Host First Global Climate Forum on April 4-5

Samarkand, The Gulf Observer: The historic city of Samarkand will host the First Global Climate Forum on April 4-5, 2025, bringing together world leaders, policymakers, experts, and environmental activists to address pressing climate challenges.

Held under the theme “Central Asia in the Face of Global Climate Challenges: Consolidation for Common Prosperity,” the forum will focus on solutions for environmental sustainability, green economic development, and climate adaptation.

The event will feature expert panels, plenary sessions, and strategic dialogues covering key topics such as renewable energy development, water resource management, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable urban planning. A special session will be dedicated to the Aral Sea crisis, one of the most severe environmental disasters of modern times, with discussions on land restoration, desertification control, and the socio-economic impact of climate change.

The forum will be attended by heads of state and government representatives from Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. Delegations from the European Union, the United Nations, international financial institutions, and major environmental organizations will also participate.

One of the forum’s key outcomes will be the presentation of the Regional Green Development Concept, outlining a unified vision for Central Asian countries in tackling climate change. This document will serve as a foundation for collaborative efforts to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development in the region.

With the growing urgency of climate action, the Samarkand Global Climate Forum is set to become a significant platform for international cooperation, aiming to drive concrete solutions for a greener and more resilient future.
