Samarkand Tourism Delegation Promotes “Tourist Gate of New Uzbekistan” in Valencia
Valencia, The Gulf Observer: A delegation from the Samarkand Territorial Administration of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development and the Inspectorate for the Protection and Use of Cultural Heritage Objects of Samarkand Region embarked on a tour of European countries to showcase the rich cultural and tourism offerings of Samarkand.
The delegation organized a presentation titled “Samarkand – the Tourist Gate of New Uzbekistan.” The presentation aimed to enlighten tourism professionals, including employees of tourism enterprises and museums, archaeological scientists, and media representatives, about the diverse tourism opportunities available in Samarkand.
The presentation emphasized the historical ties between Samarkand and Spain, dating back to the era of Amir Temur and the Temurids, with Spanish ambassadors having served in the Sahibkiran empire. Attendees were captivated by the information provided about the unique exhibits housed in the region’s museums and the tourist-friendly facilities such as Samarkand International Airport and the Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Center.
Of particular interest were the discussions surrounding the potential collaboration between Samarkand and Spain, with proposals made to attract Spanish tourists to Uzbekistan. Suggestions included organizing charter flights, fostering cultural exchanges, and hosting cultural days in both countries to strengthen the cultural and tourism ties between Samarkand and Spain.
The presentation event served as a platform for building bridges between the two nations, promoting cross-cultural understanding, and paving the way for increased tourism cooperation in the future.
