Saudi and Spanish Foreign Ministers Discuss Gaza Ceasefire Efforts in Madrid

Madrid, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with his Spanish counterpart, José Manuel Albares, on Friday to discuss the ongoing situation in Gaza and global efforts to achieve a ceasefire, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The meeting was held in Madrid as part of a high-level gathering of ministers from Muslim and European countries, alongside Josep Borrell, the European Union’s foreign affairs chief.

The ministers discussed collaborative approaches to advancing a ceasefire in Gaza, as well as long-term solutions to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including efforts to push forward a two-state solution. The meeting was part of wider diplomatic initiatives aimed at fostering peace and stability in the region.

In addition to the Gaza discussions, the two diplomats reviewed preparations for a high-level event on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which will be a focal point at the upcoming 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.

Prince Faisal and Albares also used the opportunity to assess and explore ways to further enhance bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Spain, focusing on strengthening cooperation across various fields.

The meeting underscores the ongoing international engagement in the Middle East peace process, with Saudi Arabia and Spain playing key roles in diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the Gaza crisis and promoting regional stability.
