Saudi Arabia Launches Project to Translate Fatwa Symposium into 20 Languages
Madinah, The Gulf Observer: Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, announced the launch of a major translation project on Saturday. The initiative will translate the second Fatwa Symposium, scheduled to be held at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah on Tuesday, into 20 languages, according NHC.
The translation project aims to ensure that the symposium’s message, objectives, and outcomes are effectively communicated to Muslims around the world. Al-Sudais noted that the initiative is expected to benefit approximately 50 million people globally.
Highlighting the importance of this endeavor, Al-Sudais stated that it reflects the strong support of the Saudi leadership for the presidency of religious affairs. He emphasized the necessity of making the symposium’s outcomes accessible to the global Muslim community, noting that translations play a crucial role in enhancing the experience of visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.
This effort aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which seeks to modernize religious services. The translations will be available in English, French, Indonesian, Urdu, Persian, Spanish, Malay, Portuguese, Russian, Bengali, Chinese, Turkish, Hausa, Amharic, Italian, Swahili, German, Filipino, Bosnian, and Malayalam. These translations can be accessed via a mobile app, the presidency’s website, and the Manarat Al-Haramain platform.
