Saudi Arabia Showcases Space Innovations at G20 Meeting in Brazil
Foz do Iguacu, The Gulf Observer: Mohammed Al-Tamimi, Vice Chairman and CEO of the Saudi Space Agency, led the Saudi delegation at the fifth G20 Space Economy Leaders Meeting, held from September 11 to 13 in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. The meeting, first initiated during Saudi Arabia’s G20 presidency, focused on the theme “Space Economy and Climate Change: Challenges and Opportunities.”
During the event, Al-Tamimi highlighted Saudi Arabia’s progress in the space sector and its commitment to leveraging space technology for sustainable development and climate change mitigation. He participated in discussions on innovation, entrepreneurship, and climate change, emphasizing the Kingdom’s initiatives to improve space infrastructure, attract investment, and apply space technologies to address environmental challenges.
In addition to the talks, Saudi Arabia signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Brazilian Space Agency to advance peaceful space exploration collaboration. Al-Tamimi also held discussions with his counterparts from Brazil and India, exploring opportunities for cooperation in the space economy, and met with leaders of Brazilian space companies to discuss potential investment partnerships.
