Saudi Arabia’s KSrelief and EU Officials Hold Talks on Regional Relief Efforts
Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Officials from Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and the European Union (EU) held talks on Monday to discuss cooperation on relief efforts in the region. The meeting, which took place at KSrelief’s headquarters in Riyadh, highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the two entities in addressing humanitarian crises.
Hana Omar, KSrelief’s Director of Partnerships and International Relations, met with a delegation from the EU’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO), the Saudi Press Agency reported. The discussions focused on enhancing joint efforts to support vulnerable populations affected by conflict, civil unrest, food insecurity, and economic decline.
Established in 1992, DG ECHO is dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to those in need, with its operations spanning several countries including Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen. The organization works to alleviate the suffering of people affected by emergencies, ensuring they receive necessary assistance and support.
The European officials commended Saudi Arabia’s significant contributions to global humanitarian efforts, recognizing the Kingdom’s commitment to aiding vulnerable communities around the world.
This meeting marks another step in the strong partnership between KSrelief and the EU, reinforcing their shared dedication to humanitarian principles and effective response to crises.
