Saudi Cabinet Condemns Israeli Aggression on Gaza, Reviews Regional and Economic Developments

Jeddah, The Gulf Observer: The Saudi Council of Ministers, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, strongly condemned the resumption of Israeli military aggression on the Gaza Strip, calling on the international community to take urgent action to end the humanitarian crisis faced by the Palestinian people.

Following the Cabinet session in Jeddah, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary emphasized Saudi Arabia’s steadfast commitment to regional stability and security, reiterating the Kingdom’s positions on key international issues.

Regional and Diplomatic Developments

At the outset of the meeting, the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on his discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, addressing global and regional developments.

The Cabinet welcomed the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the border demarcation deal between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, expressing hope for continued stability and prosperity in the region.

Economic and Domestic Advancements

On the domestic front, the Cabinet praised the launch of the Saudi Architecture Characters Map, highlighting 19 distinct architectural styles that reflect the Kingdom’s geographical and cultural identity. It also reviewed key economic indicators, credit rating upgrades, and ongoing structural reforms supporting Saudi Vision 2030’s transformation agenda.

The Cabinet commended Saudi security agencies’ cooperation with Iraq, which led to the interception of 7 million amphetamine pills, underscoring the importance of international efforts in combating drug smuggling.

Bilateral Agreements and International Cooperation

The Council approved multiple agreements to strengthen economic, cultural, and security cooperation, including:

  • A Saudi-Egypt MoU on scientific, training, and research collaboration in interior affairs.
  • A cultural cooperation agreement with Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology.
  • Economic cooperation MoUs with Comoros and Qatar’s Real Estate Regulatory Authority.
  • A tax treaty with Iceland to prevent double taxation and tax evasion.
  • Air transport service agreements with Suriname and Lithuania.
  • A partnership with UNICEF’s Gulf Area Office for Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys.
  • Vocational training and educational assessment MoUs with Mauritania and Pakistan.
  • A cooperation agreement between Saudi and Malaysian internal audit institutes.

The Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating development projects, strengthening regional and global partnerships, and enhancing security and economic stability in line with the Kingdom’s long-term vision.
