Saudi Cabinet Welcomes UN Resolution Seeking ICJ Advisory Opinion on Israel’s Obligations
Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: The Saudi Cabinet, chaired by King Salman, expressed its support on Tuesday for the United Nations General Assembly’s recent adoption of a resolution requesting an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding Israel’s obligations under international law. The resolution focuses on ensuring and facilitating the work of the UN and other organizations in delivering humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians.
The resolution, proposed by Norway on behalf of a coalition of 13 countries including Saudi Arabia, garnered broad support with 137 member states voting in favor, 12 against, and 22 abstaining.
