Senior CPC Official Cai Qi Leads Meeting on Beijing’s Development Planning

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: In a significant gathering aimed at charting the course for Beijing’s development, Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Cai Qi presided over a meeting on Wednesday focused on the strategic planning of the city’s growth trajectory.

At the third plenary meeting of the 20th Capital Planning and Construction Committee (CPCC), Cai, who serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and director of the CPCC, delivered a comprehensive address outlining key priorities and objectives.

Acknowledging the historical significance of 2024 as the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 10th anniversary of the implementation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, participants emphasized the critical importance of the upcoming decade in shaping Beijing’s future.

The meeting underscored the imperative of elevating relevant initiatives to a new level, emphasizing the optimization of Beijing’s spatial layout and enhancement of its functions as a political, cultural, international communication, and technological innovation hub.

Further emphasis was placed on the continued implementation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, with a particular focus on relieving non-essential functions to enhance Beijing’s role as the nation’s capital.

Deliberating on a comprehensive report summarizing the CPCC’s achievements in 2023 and outlining key areas of focus for 2024, the meeting marked a pivotal moment in Beijing’s strategic planning process.

Yin Li, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and director of the CPCC, presided over the meeting, underscoring the high-level attention and commitment to Beijing’s development agenda at both the regional and national levels.
