Baku, The Gulf Observer: As part of her official visit to Azerbaijan, Serbia’s Minister for Family Care and Demography, Jelena Žarić Kovačević, along with her accompanying delegation, visited the DOST Agency to learn about Azerbaijan’s innovative social service delivery model.

The delegation first toured Baku DOST Center No. 1, where they were introduced to the range of citizen-centered services offered at the facility.

During the meeting, Farid Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the DOST Agency, provided a detailed overview of the social reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years in the fields of labor, employment, and social protection, highlighting the DOST concept as a key achievement in modernizing public service delivery.

Mammadov noted that DOST centers currently provide 161 types of social services under the “one-stop-shop” principle, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and accessibility for all citizens.

The Serbian delegation was also given a presentation on the structure and functioning of the DOST system. Both sides exchanged views on prospects for bilateral cooperation, particularly in areas related to social welfare, family care, and the sharing of best practices in service innovation.

The visit underscored the growing interest of international partners in Azerbaijan’s DOST model, which has been recognized as a leading example of integrated social service delivery in the region.
