Serdar Berdimuhamedov Receives Chairman of Emirates National Oil Company and Dragon Oil Executives

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) and Dragon Oil, Saeed Al Tayer, along with the Acting Chairman of the Board of Dragon Oil, Abdulkarim Al Maazmi.

The guests expressed their gratitude to President Berdimuhamedov for the warm welcome and highlighted the effectiveness of Turkmenistan’s policy to diversify its fuel and energy complex. They emphasized the country’s growing authority in the international arena as a leading energy power.

During the meeting, Saeed Al Tayer and Abdulkarim Al Maazmi conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, from President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The company executives noted that it was a great honor to operate in Turkmenistan, where a favorable investment climate has been established. They expressed appreciation to the President and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty for their continued support of Dragon Oil’s activities in the Turkmen market.

President Berdimuhamedov thanked the guests for their kind words and conveyed his best wishes to the senior leadership of the United Arab Emirates. He noted that the International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2025” would provide an excellent opportunity for the UAE delegation and other participants to familiarize themselves with Turkmenistan’s large-scale initiatives and achievements in the energy sector.

The President expressed confidence that upcoming meetings between company representatives would further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas industry.

It was underscored that Turkmenistan–UAE relations continue to develop dynamically on the basis of mutual respect and trust, both bilaterally and within international frameworks, including the United Nations.

Highlighting the oil and gas industry as one of Turkmenistan’s most rapidly developing sectors, the President noted that the national strategy aims to produce a wide range of products from local raw materials to meet domestic needs and expand exports. He praised Dragon Oil’s positive experience and long-standing cooperation with Turkmenistan.

Reaffirming Turkmenistan’s readiness to consider specific proposals from ENOC and Dragon Oil to enhance partnership, President Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides would continue to develop productively.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the President wished Saeed Al Tayer and Abdulkarim Al Maazmi continued success in their professional endeavors.
