Sharjah, The Gulf Observer: The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) has proudly announced the launch of ‘Warriors of Arabia’ (WOA), the largest obstacle race event of its kind in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Scheduled to take place on the 24th of February in the picturesque city of Khorfakkan, the event promises to captivate participants and spectators alike.

The grandeur of the event will unfold at the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, a Roman colosseum-style architectural marvel overlooking the stunning Khorfakkan beach – a key initiative by SGMB. More than just a race, ‘Warriors of Arabia’ is poised to be an exceptional gathering of over 2000 participants, bringing together adventure sports enthusiasts and individuals seeking an exhilarating challenge.

Tariq Saeed Allay, Director-General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, expressed the bureau’s commitment to fostering an active and healthy lifestyle within the community. “Our aim is to encourage, engage, and inspire the community to build a healthy and active society in alignment with Sharjah’s vision,” stated Allay. The event not only provides a platform for physical activity but also promises an unforgettable sporting and touristic experience for individuals and families.

“The Championship is aimed at the largest segment of endurance sports fans in the UAE and across the region. The ‘Warriors of Arabia’ is dedicated to all lovers of adventure sports and endurance races amidst the wonderful nature that the city of Khorfakkan, the Bride of the East Coast, uniquely offers,” continued the SGMB Director-General.

‘Warriors of Arabia’ will feature two main race categories for adults: a challenging 4-kilometre race with 15 obstacles and a more demanding 8-kilometre race incorporating 20 challenges. The children’s race, open to participants aged 4 to 14, is equally divided into two events – a 600-metre race for ages 4 to 9, and a 1200-metre race for ages 10 to 14.

Beyond the thrill of the obstacle race, the event presents an opportunity for participants to explore the enchanting city of Khorfakkan, enjoying a rich touristic experience along the scenic east coast of the emirate.
