Shavkat Mirziyouev gets Information on geological exploration work
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Having visited the Uzbekneftegaz joint-stock company on 22 November 2023, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyouev identified tasks for the development of promising geological areas.
At the meeting held Monday, responsible sector leaders reported on the progress of these tasks and presented information on the program of geological exploration and production work for 2024.
It was noted that work is being carried out in two directions – maintaining gas production volumes at existing fields and identifying new reserves. In recent years, the depth of geological research has been increased from 2-3 kilometers to 4-5 kilometers. As a result, new gas reserves were discovered and an additional 4.4 billion cubic meters of this raw material were produced.
An international consulting company was also involved, with the assistance of which it was possible to identify many promising areas.
In continuation of this work, next year it is planned to carry out seismic work on an area of 3.5 thousand square kilometers and drill new exploration wells.
The issue of attracting foreign investment and providing working capital to industry enterprises was discussed at the meeting.
The ways of transition to geological drilling to a depth of 6-7 kilometers using advanced technologies are considered.
The importance of uninterrupted energy supplies, as well as ensuring payment discipline in the regions and at large enterprises, was emphasized.
