Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Today, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed a high-level delegation led by Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, who is currently on an official visit to Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the two sides engaged in discussions on deepening the multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus, with a particular focus on expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation. Chairperson Kochanova conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus to President Mirziyoyev.

The regular organization of events within the cultural and humanitarian framework was also highlighted as a key factor in strengthening ties between the two nations.

The two sides praised the positive outcomes of recent joint events between the parliaments, including meetings held in the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the second Women’s Business Forum in Tashkent. The discussions underscored the importance of maintaining an active inter-parliamentary dialogue to advance specific cooperation projects in areas such as trade, industry, agriculture, education, healthcare, and other priority sectors.
