South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol Arrives in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk-yeol, accompanied by his spouse Kim Gun-hee, arrived in Uzbekistan today for an official visit at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The distinguished guests were warmly received at Tashkent International Airport by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and other high-ranking officials.
Following a brief conversation at the airport, President Yoon Suk-yeol and his spouse proceeded to the residence prepared for their stay.
The visit aims to deepen practical cooperation between the two nations, focusing on key sectors such as trade, innovation and technology exchange, energy, electronics and electrical engineering, the chemical industry, agriculture, and infrastructure development. Additionally, discussions will encompass joint programs in education, healthcare, culture, sports, and tourism.
Regional cooperation, particularly within the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” framework, will also be a significant topic of discussion. The leaders are expected to exchange ideas and strategies to enhance collaboration in this area.
The summit will culminate in the signing of several intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements, further solidifying the partnership between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
As part of the visit, President Yoon Suk-yeol will travel to Samarkand, adding a cultural dimension to the diplomatic engagement. This visit underscores the strong and multifaceted relationship between the two countries and their commitment to continued cooperation and mutual development.
