Colombo, The Gulf Observer: Sri Lanka has recorded its highest-ever annual tourist arrivals, with the 2,333,797th visitor for 2025 arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport, marking a historic milestone for the country’s tourism sector.

The figure surpasses the previous record of 2,333,796 tourists achieved in 2018, which had remained the highest annual tourist arrival total in Sri Lanka’s history. The new record reflects a strong recovery and renewed global confidence in Sri Lanka as a travel destination.
