Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Receives Verbal Message from Swiss President

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman received a verbal message from President Karin Keller-Sutter of the Swiss Confederation, conveyed during a meeting between HH Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, and Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, Vice President of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER), who is currently on an official working visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
During the meeting, HH Sayyid Asa’ad delivered the greetings and sincere wishes of His Majesty the Sultan to the President of the Swiss Confederation, wishing her continued success in promoting prosperity and security for the friendly Swiss people.
In response, the visiting Swiss official requested HH Sayyid Asa’ad to convey the greetings of President Karin Keller-Sutter to His Majesty Sultan Haitham, wishing him success in guiding Oman toward further progress in various developmental, economic, and social sectors.
The discussions also focused on the strong bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Swiss Confederation, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to further develop cooperation, particularly in the economic, commercial, and investment sectors, to benefit the peoples of both countries.
On the Omani side, the meeting was attended by the Secretary-General and Advisor at the Office of HH Sayyid Asa’ad. The Swiss delegation included Thomas Oertle, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Oman; Urs Andreas Wiedmer, Head of Communications at the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research; Myriam Gurtner, Senior Advisor to the Vice President of the Swiss Confederation; and Alois Aloys Basaplan, Deputy Head of the Bilateral Economic Relations Division for the Middle East and Africa.
