Sultan Haitham Leads Eid Al-Fitr Prayers in Muscat, Calls for Unity and Blessings

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman marked the first day of Eid Al-Fitr 1447 AH with great religious devotion and national pride, as His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik offered the Eid prayers at Al Khor Mosque in the Governorate of Muscat.

Joining His Majesty were members of the Royal Family, Al Busaid dignitaries, ministers, advisors, senior commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), the Royal Oman Police (ROP), and other military and security services. Also in attendance were heads of diplomatic missions from Islamic countries, members of the State Council and Shura Council, undersecretaries, tribal sheikhs, businessmen, and corporate leaders.

The Eid prayer was led by Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, who delivered the Eid sermon. He began with praise to Almighty Allah and blessings upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), emphasizing the deep spiritual connection between the holy month of Ramadan, the Holy Quran, and Eid Al-Fitr.

The sermon highlighted the importance of awareness as a guiding light that helps individuals and societies maintain balance and clarity, while urging believers to transform faith into a sustained commitment to goodness. It also underscored the values of loyalty, national unity, and responsible citizenship as essential pillars for strengthening the nation and preserving its moral fabric.

Following the prayers, His Majesty proceeded to Al Alam Palace, where a 21-gun salute was fired in his honor. Upon arrival, the Omani Royal Anthem was played as the Sultan ascended the dais.

His Majesty then received well-wishers, exchanging Eid greetings and blessings. He expressed gratitude for their sincere sentiments and prayers, and supplicated to Almighty Allah to accept all acts of devotion and to bless the nation with joy, prosperity, and continued peace.

The Sultan also extended his wishes for happiness and blessings to all citizens and residents of Oman, as well as to the Arab and Islamic world, praying for the return of such auspicious occasions with goodness, glory, and honor.
