Sultan of Oman visit to Singapore reflects a new phase in cooperation: FM
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: As part of a “state” visit by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, said: This visit reflects the existing long-standing friendly relations and the level of positive cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Singapore, and that the talks Which took place between His Majesty the Sultan and the Singaporean leadership, focused on intensifying cooperation to achieve the economic goals of the two countries, in order to ensure sustainable prosperity during the twenty-first century.
His Excellency pointed out that these talks are consistent with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, as the economic development of the Sultanate of Oman depends on adherence to free trade rules, support for private sector initiatives and international cooperation.
His Excellency explained that the focus has been on a number of key areas for this new phase of cooperation between the two countries, including cooperation in developing and applying new technologies, promoting and supporting emerging companies and small and medium enterprises, developing smart cities and free zones, education, exchange of knowledge and technology, health and tourism fields, and others.
His Excellency stressed that the visit was a valuable opportunity for both leaderships to discuss the current global situation, affirm the shared commitment to international cooperation, the rule of international law, and support comprehensive dialogue as a way to resolve international disputes.
The visit also launched a new phase of cooperation between the two countries and peoples and relations that will contribute strongly to economic and investment development. between the two countries, in addition to diplomatic and cultural relations.
