Tajikistan and Flanders Explore Cooperation Ahead of Dushanbe Invest 2025

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: Tajikistan and the Belgian province of Flanders are in talks to boost cooperation across multiple sectors, including the light and textile industries, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, food production, artificial intelligence, tourism, and trade.
The discussions come during the official visit of a high-level Flemish delegation to Dushanbe, headed by Jill Willem Suetens, Head of the Protocol and Administrative Department of the Government of Flanders. The visit, taking place from August 11 to 16, is at the invitation of the executive body of the state authority of the capital.
During their stay, the Belgian delegation met with the leadership of the city of Dushanbe, the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management, as well as representatives of the National Academy of Sciences, the Committee for Tourism Development, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SUE Smart City, and the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan.
Talks at the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies focused on expanding collaboration in priority sectors, with the Belgian side invited to participate in upcoming events organized by the Ministry. Similarly, the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management presented the country’s investment opportunities, extending an invitation to the Dushanbe Invest 2025 International Investment Forum, scheduled for October.
Beyond economic discussions, the visit also includes a cultural program aimed at fostering exchange and promoting Tajikistan’s tourism potential. The delegation will tour the National Museum, the Kohi Navruz complex, the Central Mosque, the Pilaf Center, the Mehrgon market, the Gissar fortress, and the Varzob district.
