Tashkent Hosts Talks on Uzbekistan-Türkiye Cooperation in Transport Infrastructure

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkorov met with Reha Denemeç, a member of the board of directors of the Turkish company IC İçtaş İnşaat, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing transport infrastructure development.
During the meeting, the two sides emphasized the importance of utilizing public-private partnership (PPP) mechanisms for infrastructure projects, including the construction of roads, bridges, and airports. Both parties commended the progress achieved in improving Uzbekistan’s transport infrastructure.
As a key outcome of the talks, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to develop a high-speed toll road connecting the Samarkand, Bukhara, and Navoi regions, marking a significant step toward enhancing regional connectivity.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance highlighted the dynamic growth of mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, facilitated by successful PPP projects. Both sides expressed a commitment to further strengthening ties by implementing new infrastructure initiatives that leverage international expertise.
