Tashkent hosts Uzbekistan – China Business Forum
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan – China Business Forum, organized by the Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan. It aimed to develop strong trade relations between Uzbekistan and China by bringing together key players from various fields, focusing on logistics, food, beverages, and agriculture.
The forum was attended by businesspeople from China, experts, foreign and local entrepreneurs, and exporters of Uzbekistan.
At the event, participants identified potential investment areas for cooperation and had the opportunity to form strategic alliances that would lead to economic development.
Last year, Uzbekistan exported to China mainly mineral fuels ($849.5 million), services ($703 million), industrial products ($629.8 million), chemical products ($133.3 million), and food products ($108.8 million). From China the country imported machinery and equipment ($3.6 billion), industrial products ($1.3 billion), chemical products ($821.9 million) and various finished products ($470.8 million), services ($90.2 million).
Local exporters have an excellent opportunity to sell precious metals, organic chemicals, and fruits and nuts on the Chinese market. Uzbekistan has great potential for the production and export of these products.
As noted by Yorqin Malikov, Chairman of the Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan, the forum will contribute to the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, cooperation with representatives of large companies to increase exports and create joint ventures in both Uzbekistan and China.
