Tokayev, Chinese Ambassador Discuss Upcoming Visit to China and SCO Summit

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting focused on preparations for his upcoming official visit to the People’s Republic of China and participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and the “SCO Plus” Meeting in Tianjin, the Akorda press service reported.
President Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches priority importance to deepening its comprehensive strategic partnership with China, underscoring the central role of bilateral cooperation in regional stability and development. He also expressed confidence that the forthcoming SCO Summit would be a success, marking a new milestone in the Organization’s history and contributing to stronger, all-round regional cooperation.
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador assured that every effort would be made to ensure the successful hosting of the events in Tianjin and Beijing. He also called for giving additional impetus to strengthening multifaceted Kazakh–Chinese relations.
During the talks, the two sides also reviewed prospects for expanding trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
