Traditional Costume Show and Music Concert Celebrate Myanmar Women’s Day 2025 in Nay Pyi Taw

Nay Pyi Taw, The Gulf Observer: A vibrant celebration marking Myanmar Women’s Day 2025 was held yesterday afternoon at Thiri Yadana Hall, head office of the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation (MWAF) in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw. The highlight of the event was the Costume Show titled “Polite Myanmar, Wearing Traditional Costumes,” organised alongside a music concert by the Myanmar National Women’s Committee and arranged by MWAF.

The occasion was graced by MWAF Honorary Patron Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the State Administration Council (SAC) Chairman and Prime Minister, along with MWAF Honorary Patron Daw Khin Thet Htay and other distinguished guests.

The celebration, held in honour of Myanmar Women’s Day, which falls on 3 July 2025, featured renowned vocalists and artists who performed songs and one-act plays, showcasing modern attire designed by Myanmar’s leading fashion designers. The performances paid tribute to the role of women in society while promoting traditional culture and contemporary creativity.

During the ceremony, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and Daw Khin Thet Htay presented bouquets to the patron, chair, and vice-chair of MWAF, along with MWAF Secretary Director Daw Myat Myat Oo, who led the organisation of the event. Celebrated artistes Yan Aung and Soe Myat Thuzar, multiple-time Academy Award winners, were also honoured for their contributions on behalf of all participating performers.

Following the formal programme, MWAF Honorary Patrons and officials extended cordial greetings to the artistes and participants.

The event saw the attendance of prominent figures, including the wife of the SAC Secretary, the wife of the Joint Secretary, SAC members and their spouses, the wife of the Chairman of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union, Union Ministers and their wives, the Auditor-General of the Union, senior officials from the Union Civil Service Board, Nay Pyi Taw Council leadership, senior Tatmadaw officers and their wives, representatives from women’s organisations, judiciary members, and other dignitaries.

The celebration underscored the importance of promoting Myanmar’s rich cultural heritage and recognising the vital role of women in national development.
