Trump Recovering from Gunshot Wound, Says Former Physician Ronny Jackson

Ronny Jackson

Washington, The Gulf Observer: Donald Trump’s former physician, Ronny Jackson, announced on Saturday that the former president is recovering as expected from a gunshot wound to his ear, sustained last week. Despite intermittent bleeding, Jackson noted that Trump might require a hearing exam. The bullet, fired by a would-be assassin at a July 13 rally in Pennsylvania, missed entering Trump’s head by less than a quarter of an inch, instead striking the top of his right ear.

Jackson, a Republican congressman from Texas who served as physician to Presidents Trump and Obama, provided the first public medical description of Trump’s injury. He stated in a social media letter that the bullet caused a two-centimeter wide wound extending to the cartilaginous surface of the ear, initially resulting in significant bleeding and swelling. The swelling has since resolved, and the wound is beginning to heal properly.

Jackson has been evaluating and treating Trump’s wound daily since the shooting, noting that no sutures were needed. However, due to the ear’s highly vascular nature, intermittent bleeding persists, requiring a dressing. He mentioned that further evaluations, including a comprehensive hearing exam, may be necessary.

Five days after the assassination attempt, Trump accepted the Republican Party’s presidential nomination for the upcoming November 5 election. At the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Trump recounted the attempt on his life, attributing his survival to “the grace of Almighty God.” He described hearing a loud whizzing sound and feeling a hard impact on his right ear, with a thick bandage still covering the wound during his speech.
