Turkic world interacts on equal terms with global powers: Tokayev
Astana, The Gulf Observer: The Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States created on the initiative of Kazakhstan has become a full-fledged international organization, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said in his opening remarks at the 10th Anniversary Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Astana, according to the reports of Akorda press service.
President Tokayev noted that a lot of work has already been done and praised concrete achievements of the organization.
“A document entitled “Prospects of the Turkic World -2040” was approved. Most importantly, we strengthened the unity of fraternal countries. We have demonstrated to the world our commitment to our shared values. We fulfill the will of our ancestors and strengthen cooperation between the Turkic people,” he said.
The Kazakh President went on to stress that the present-day goal is to preserve unity based on mutual trust and brotherhood and pass it on to the future generations.
“Turkic world interacts on equal terms with global powers,” said Tokayev, adding that other countries today take into account the key guidelines of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). “Expanding interaction between the Turkic states is a common task for all of us”.
