Turkish Foreign Minister to Host Ministerial Meeting on Gaza in Istanbul

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will chair a high-level ministerial meeting on Gaza in Istanbul on Monday, Turkish diplomatic sources announced on Sunday.
The meeting is expected to bring together the foreign ministers of Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Qatar, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan — the same countries that met with then–U.S. President Donald Trump on September 23 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, the sources said.
According to diplomatic officials, discussions will focus on the latest developments following the October 10 ceasefire and the ongoing humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Minister Fidan is expected to condemn Israel’s attempts to undermine the ceasefire and call on the international community to adopt a firm and unified stance against what he will describe as provocative actions by Tel Aviv.
He is also likely to underline the necessity of coordinated action among Muslim countries to ensure that the current ceasefire leads to a sustainable and just peace.
Fidan will emphasize that the humanitarian assistance reaching Gaza remains insufficient, noting that Israel has not met its obligations regarding the delivery of aid. He will reiterate that ensuring uninterrupted and adequate humanitarian access to Gaza is both a moral imperative and a legal obligation under international law.
The Turkish foreign minister will further stress the need to press Israel to fully comply with humanitarian commitments and to enable the immediate and secure flow of relief supplies to civilians in the besieged enclave.
In addition, Fidan is expected to call for swift implementation of arrangements that would allow Palestinians to assume responsibility for Gaza’s security and governance, while safeguarding their legitimate national rights and advancing the two-state solution as the foundation for lasting peace.
The meeting will also focus on continued consultations and close coordination among participating nations regarding the steps to be taken within United Nations platforms, the diplomatic sources added.
The Istanbul gathering is seen as part of Türkiye’s broader diplomatic efforts to mobilize regional and international support for peace, stability, and humanitarian relief in Gaza amid the fragile post-ceasefire environment.
