Cooperation

Istanbul, The Gulf Observer: Türkiye’s Halal Accreditation Agency (HAK) and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in the halal sector. The signing took place during the World Halal Summit, which opened the same day in Istanbul.

The World Halal Summit and Halal Expo, held concurrently under the main theme “Strengthening Halal Industry via Innovation and Excellence,” bring together key stakeholders, industry experts, and institutional representatives from across the global halal ecosystem. The 11th edition of the event is being held from November 26 to 29 under the auspices of the Turkish presidency, with participation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Turkish Trade Ministry, and HAK. Anadolu serves as the global communications partner.

The MoU outlines cooperation in several areas, including sharing expertise on halal products, facilitating mutual visits and meetings, and organizing joint programs such as training courses, seminars, and workshops. It also includes provisions for exchanging information and coordinating participation in international conferences, forums, and other sector-related events.

The agreement is expected to strengthen bilateral collaboration between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia in advancing halal standards, promoting innovation, and supporting excellence within the global halal industry.
