Türkiye Condemns Israeli Minister's Remarks on Al Aqsa Mosque Compound

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: The Turkish government has strongly denounced recent remarks by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir concerning the construction of a synagogue within the Al Aqsa Mosque compound.

In a statement released today, the Turkish Foreign Ministry described Ben-Gvir’s comments as “a new and extremely dangerous example of Israel’s efforts to change the status and identity of Jerusalem and the holy sites in Jerusalem.” The ministry emphasized that such statements have not only provoked outrage across the Islamic world but have also alarmed the global community.

“Provocations against the Al Aqsa Mosque, a holy place belonging exclusively to Muslims, offend the feelings of Muslims and cause tensions all over the world,” the statement declared. The ministry further underscored that ongoing actions by the Israeli government pose a growing threat to regional and global stability.

Türkiye called on the international community to take immediate action to halt what it described as Israeli aggression and to safeguard the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people. The statement emphasized the importance of protecting the sanctity of Jerusalem’s holy sites and maintaining the city’s historical and religious status quo.
