Türkiye Condemns Israel’s Cultural Genocide in Gaza
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Fahrettin Altun, the Communications Director of Türkiye, issued a strong condemnation against Israel’s actions in Gaza, accusing them of perpetrating cultural genocide by systematically erasing Palestinian heritage from the region. Altun’s statement, made on social media, reflects growing concern over the erasure of centuries-old history and identity of Palestinians.
Altun emphasized the profound significance of archives, libraries, museums, and mosques as repositories of national memory for any people, highlighting their intrinsic value in cultural preservation. He denounced the destruction of these cultural landmarks as nothing short of barbarism.
The Communications Director sharply criticized the Israeli leadership for openly articulating their intent to forcibly displace Palestinian civilians from Gaza. He condemned Israel’s genocidal rhetoric and conduct of war, stating that such actions are not only directed against individuals but are aimed at undermining the very essence of Palestinian identity and culture.
Altun reiterated his call for the international community, particularly the Western intellectual community, to raise awareness and stand against such blatant disregard for cultural heritage and human rights.
