Türkiye Urges Muslim Unity Against Israeli Aggression at OIC Meeting in Istanbul

Istanbul, The Gulf Observer: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan issued a stark warning to his Muslim counterparts on Saturday, stating that Israel’s recent military actions, particularly its attacks on Iran, were pushing the region toward disaster. Speaking at the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul, Fidan called for unified Islamic solidarity and urgent international intervention to prevent a wider regional conflict.

“Israel committed genocide and created a bloodbath in Gaza, and unfortunately, Israel today attacks Iran, dragging the whole region into a disaster,” Fidan declared during the high-level session.

He further asserted that the instability in the Middle East is not limited to any one nation. “This is not a problem of Yemen, Iran, Palestine, or Syria. The real problem is Israel,” he said, pointing to the broader pattern of Israeli military aggression across the region, including in Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen.

Fidan emphasized that Muslim nations must unite and support Iran in the face of these provocations. “The member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation should act together in unity, and we certainly believe that the member countries of the OIC should show a real solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he urged.

Highlighting Türkiye’s commitment to de-escalation, the Turkish foreign minister reiterated that Ankara stands ready to support diplomatic initiatives aimed at restoring peace under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The meeting, convened amid intensifying Israeli strikes and a widening conflict zone, underscored growing concerns within the Islamic world over the risk of a broader war in the region, with ministers calling for restraint and a collective response to ongoing Israeli provocations.
