Türkiye’s Economic Confidence Reaches Eight-Month High in December

Türkiye's Economic Confidence

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Türkiye’s economic confidence surged to its highest level in eight months in December, according to official data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) on Monday.

The economic confidence index climbed by 1.8% month-on-month to 98.8, marking a recovery from November’s 0.9% decline. The latest figure reflects growing optimism across several sectors of the economy, with only the manufacturing sector experiencing a slight dip.

In December, the services confidence index saw a 2.4% increase, reaching 113.6, while the consumer and construction confidence indexes both rose by 1.9%, hitting 81.3 and 89.4, respectively. The retail trade confidence index also posted a 1.2% growth, rising to 113.0.

However, the manufacturing sector confidence index declined by 0.7% to 102.7, making it the only sub-index to record a drop.

A confidence index value above 100 signifies optimism about the economic outlook, while a value below 100 reflects a more cautious or pessimistic sentiment. The overall improvement in December signals growing optimism in key sectors, despite lingering challenges in manufacturing.

This upward trend in economic confidence highlights resilience in Türkiye’s economy as it moves toward recovery and stabilization after a challenging year.
