Turkmen Delegation Arrives in Dushanbe for 14th Intergovernmental Commission Meeting

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: A Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahallyyev arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the 14th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan on trade, economic, and scientific and technical cooperation, scheduled for March 3–4.

The official delegation was welcomed at Dushanbe International Airport by Tajik Deputy Prime Minister Ziyozoda Sulaimon and other senior officials, according to the Tajik Ministry of Energy and Water Resources.

The agenda of the two-day session includes discussions on expanding bilateral cooperation, strengthening trade and economic ties, and identifying new avenues for mutually beneficial engagement. Particular focus is expected on enhancing collaboration in key sectors, including energy, industry, transport, agriculture, and scientific and technical exchange.

The Joint Intergovernmental Commission serves as a principal mechanism for coordinating and advancing cooperation between the two countries. The previous, 13th meeting of the Turkmen-Tajik Commission was held in Ashgabat on October 16, 2024, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening strategic partnership and broadening economic interaction.

The latest round of talks in Dushanbe underscores the shared interest of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan in further strengthening their long-standing friendly relations and boosting practical cooperation across priority sectors.
