Turkmen Embassy opens in Qatar

Doha, The Gulf Observer: The opening ceremony of the Turkmen Embassy in Qatar was held on Monday in capital city Doha.

Members of the Turkmen delegation and diplomatic missions working in Qatar took part in the opening ceremony of the new diplomatic mission, the official Turkmen media reported.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov stressed the high level of successfully developing Turkmen-Qatari relations in his speech at the opening ceremony.

According to the report, a new diplomatic mission in Qatar will contribute to further development of bilateral relations and give a new impetus to the effective and long-term cooperation.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on December 3 last year during his visit to Qatar, and the sides discussed the opening of Turkmen diplomatic mission in Qatar. The head of Turkmenistan signed the relevant Decree on December 9, 2022.

Qatari embassy in Turkmenistan was opened in Ashgabat in December 2014.
