Turkmen Foreign Minister Signs Condolence Book at Iranian Embassy in Ashgabat

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ashgabat on March 4 and signed the book of condolences opened in memory of the late Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, according to official Turkmen media reports.

During the visit, Meredov met with Iran’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan, Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, and conveyed heartfelt condolences on the passing of the Iranian leader.

The book of condolences has been opened at both the Iranian Embassy and the Iranian Cultural Center in Ashgabat. According to officials, it will remain available for visitors for a period of 10 to 15 days starting from March 4, allowing diplomats, officials and members of the public to express their sympathies.

Earlier, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, extended condolences on behalf of the people of Turkmenistan to Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian and the Iranian nation over the passing of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei.

The gesture reflects Turkmenistan’s solidarity with Iran during this time of mourning and underscores the close ties between the two neighboring countries.
