Turkmen Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Attends SCO+ Meeting in Astana

Astana, The Gulf Observer: The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, is participating in a high-level meeting of heads of delegations in the “SCO+” format in Astana, as reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

The forum, organized within the framework of the regular Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), brings together leaders of member states, observer countries, and dialogue partners of the Organization. Notable attendees include heads of international and regional organizations, such as UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

The SCO is a permanent intergovernmental international organization with primary objectives of strengthening peace, security, and stability in the region. It aims to consolidate collective efforts to address contemporary threats and challenges, foster positive political dialogue, and enhance trade, economic, scientific, and technical partnerships. Additionally, the organization promotes cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

This year’s chairmanship of the SCO is held by the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is hosting the summit and the accompanying high-level meetings.
