Turkmen President Appoints New Minister of National Security at State Security Council Meeting

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, appointed a new head of the Ministry of National Security during a meeting of the State Security Council held on Saturday.
According to reports by Watan habarlary, a presidential decree relieved Major General Nazar Muhammadmyradovich Atagarayev of his duties as Minister of National Security in connection with his transfer to another position.
Under the same decree, Major General Dovletgeldi Gurbangeldiyevich Meredov was appointed as the new Minister of National Security.
The session of the State Security Council also included reports from military and law enforcement agencies regarding their activities and performance during the month of January.
The changes come as part of ongoing administrative measures aimed at strengthening national security institutions and ensuring effective coordination among defense and law enforcement bodies.
