Turkmen State University Celebrates Week Honoring Magtymguly Fragi’s 300th Anniversary

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmen State University (TSU) named after Magtymguly is hosting a vibrant week-long celebration dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the illustrious Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi. The event, titled “Makhtumkuli and Turkmen literature,” is taking place from February 19 to 24, as reported by “Turkmenistan: The Golden Age.”

Organized by the university’s Department of Turkmen Literature, the week encompasses a diverse program featuring scientific conferences, open lectures, creative gatherings, competitions, and olympiads. The initiative aims to honor the legacy of Magtymguly Fragi and foster a deeper understanding of Turkmen literature among students.

The inauguration of the Week saw professors and teachers of the university delivering speeches, setting the stage for a series of engaging activities. Students actively participated by presenting songs inspired by the timeless poems of Magtymguly Fragi, creating a lively and spirited atmosphere.

Open lectures during the week delved into the history of Turkmen literature and explored the contributions of remarkable writers to the cultural tapestry. Scientific and practical conferences facilitated discussions on contemporary literary studies, providing valuable insights to the participants.
