Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: At a Government meeting in Turkmenistan, the development of the digital economy and national electronic communications systems took center stage. Mammetkhan Chakyev, the head of the Agency for Transport and Communications, reported on the proactive integration of advanced IT technologies, leading to an expansion of digital services in the country.

One notable addition is the introduction of the Duralga mobile application, offering enhanced digital services. Additionally, Turkmenistan launched the Belet Video video hosting platform, showcasing the country’s commitment to leveraging modern technologies for diverse online experiences.

A focal point of discussion was the ongoing development of the Electronic Government system, coupled with the implementation of an information exchange system in the X-Road architecture format—an internationally recognized framework. The process of selecting a supplier for this initiative is currently underway in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the continuous growth in Internet traffic within the country due to the modernization of national electronic communications systems. Acknowledging this trend, he directed authorities to persist in meeting citizens’ evolving needs for digital services by advancing these technological initiatives.

Turkmenistan’s efforts underscore its commitment to harnessing digital advancements to enhance services, improve connectivity, and contribute to the nation’s overall technological development.
