Turkmenistan Advances Educational Quality Standards
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a pivotal Resolution titled “On approval of the regulations on state accreditation of educational activities.” The resolution, discussed during the meeting, underscores Turkmenistan’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education in alignment with international standards.
Nurmuhammet Amannepesov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, provided insights into the newly approved regulations, emphasizing their congruence with Turkmenistan’s existing Law “On Education.” The overarching objective of these regulations is to introduce contemporary models for evaluating educational activities, drawing inspiration from global best practices, as reported by official Turkmen media.
In addition to the educational reforms, Amannepesov presented updates on the preparations for upcoming international events, demonstrating Turkmenistan’s proactive engagement in the global arena. Highlighting the importance of educational and scientific collaboration, he announced several significant events scheduled for March and April 2024.
Among the upcoming events, the International Olympiad for schoolchildren is set to take place in March at the specialized educational complex No. 1 in the city of Arkadag. Concurrently, the IV Open International Olympiad in Mathematics for students is scheduled at the International University for the Humanities and Development. In April, the II Open International Olympiad in Informatics for university students will unfold at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas.
The grand culmination of these events will be the International Scientific and Practical Conference and Exhibition themed “Scientific Views of Students in the Epoch of the Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State,” hosted by the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas on April 19.
In response to the comprehensive report, President Berdimuhamedov expressed his commitment to the successful execution of these international events. He particularly directed efforts towards ensuring the success of the first International Mathematical Olympiad among schoolchildren in Arkadag and the open International Olympiads in mathematics and informatics for students at the designated institutions. The president’s directives underscore Turkmenistan’s dedication to fostering excellence in education and promoting global collaboration in the academic sphere.
