Turkmenistan Airlines Launches Direct Weekly Flights Between Ashgabat and Seoul

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan Airlines has successfully operated its first direct flight from Ashgabat to Seoul, the capital of the Republic of Korea, marking a new chapter in the national carrier’s international expansion, Turkmenistan’s official media reported on Monday.
The inaugural flight departed from Ashgabat International Airport and covered a distance of 5,842 kilometers (3,631 miles), with a total flight duration of approximately seven hours and 30 minutes. A total of 365 passengers were on board the maiden voyage.
According to the schedule, flights on the Ashgabat–Seoul–Ashgabat route will be conducted once a week, every Monday.
Airline representatives highlighted that the new route will facilitate more convenient travel for students, business travelers, and tourists, while significantly enhancing the airline’s global route network. The launch is also expected to strengthen air connectivity and bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and South Korea in the fields of commerce, education, and tourism.
