Turkmenistan and Japan to Hold Bilateral Business Forum

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan and Japan are preparing to convene a bilateral business forum aimed at expanding economic cooperation across key sectors, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev announced during a government meeting on Friday, according to official Turkmen media.

Atagulyyev noted that Japanese companies operating in sectors such as investment, industry, oil and gas, logistics, healthcare, construction, education, and services have expressed keen interest in participating in the upcoming forum.

From the Turkmen side, the forum is expected to bring together representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and officials from relevant ministries and government agencies.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to active engagement in major international economic initiatives and underscored the significance of the country’s successful participation in global platforms such as the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, where the Turkmen pavilion has garnered attention. He instructed the relevant authorities to ensure thorough preparation and effective organization of the forthcoming Turkmen-Japanese business forum.

The government meeting also addressed a range of other state matters, resulting in the adoption of several key decisions to further national development priorities.
