Turkmenistan and Qatar Discuss Opening of Direct Flights

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Representatives of the “Turkmenhowayollary” Agency and the Charge d’Affaires of the State of Qatar in Turkmenistan, Ghanem Abdullah Al-Rumaihi, convened in Ashgabat to discuss the establishment of direct flights between Turkmenistan and Qatar, according to the official website of the agency.

The discussions focused on the potential for initiating both direct and transit flights between the two nations. A proposal was made to organize promotional campaigns for Qatar Airways in Turkmenistan, which would include detailed information on tariffs and services available to travelers.

The meeting also covered the provision of benefits by Qatari airports for the prospective Ashgabat-Doha-Ashgabat route, operated by the Turkmen national carrier, aimed at boosting transit passenger traffic.

Additionally, it was highlighted that citizens of Turkmenistan would be able to utilize an online service for simplified visa processing when traveling to Qatar.

Overall, the meeting reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to advancing civil aviation and expanding its international air traffic network.
