Turkmenistan and Qatar Emphasize High-Level Meetings in Doha Political Consultations

Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmet Gurbanov, and the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, underscored the importance of high-level meetings during political consultations between their respective ministries in Doha on Monday.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the discussions encompassed a broad range of topics including trade and economic relations, investments, tourism, energy, and the oil and gas sector. Both sides highlighted the pivotal role of the Joint Turkmen-Qatari Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in fostering bilateral ties and emphasized the enhancement of inter-parliamentary cooperation.

During the consultations, the officials exchanged views on the current state of political, diplomatic, cultural, and humanitarian relations between Turkmenistan and Qatar. They reviewed the ongoing development of cooperation within the framework of multilateral diplomacy, particularly within the United Nations. The parties agreed that a key priority should be the identification and development of the contractual and legal framework governing their partnership.

Cultural and humanitarian projects were identified as prospective areas for further cooperation, with discussions on organizing Cultural Days, joint exhibitions, and collaborations in education and sports.

The meeting also addressed relevant issues on the regional and international agenda, reflecting a mutual commitment to strengthening their bilateral relationship and collaborating on global matters of shared interest.
