Turkmenistan and Serbia Hold Political Consultations to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Belgrade, The Gulf Observer: Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Serbia were held in Belgrade on Thursday, marking another step toward deepening bilateral relations between the two nations.
The Turkmen delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov, while the Serbian side was headed by Damjan Jović, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
During the meeting, the two sides engaged in a constructive exchange of views on key aspects of the bilateral agenda and discussed the current state and prospects of political and diplomatic dialogue. Both delegations emphasized that cooperation between Turkmenistan and Serbia continues to develop on the principles of mutual respect, equality, and mutually beneficial partnership.
The diplomats highlighted the importance of maintaining regular political consultations between the two Foreign Ministries and reaffirmed the commitment to further improving the bilateral legal framework.
Economic cooperation was a central topic of the discussions, with trade, the textile industry, and the export of polymers, fertilizers, and agricultural products identified as promising areas for joint development.
The meeting also focused on expanding collaboration in culture, education, and tourism, recognizing these sectors as key instruments for strengthening people-to-people ties and mutual understanding.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive experience of cooperation on international platforms, particularly within the United Nations, where Turkmenistan and Serbia have consistently supported each other’s initiatives and co-sponsored significant resolutions.
Concluding the consultations, the parties underscored the importance of continuing the established dialogue aimed at diversifying and enhancing the mutually beneficial partnership between Turkmenistan and Serbia.
