Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan FMs Discuss Middle East Situation, Stress Respect for Sovereignty

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on March 7, 2026, during which the two sides discussed the current situation in the Middle East.
According to official sources, the foreign ministers exchanged views on recent regional developments and stressed the importance of resolving complex international issues through peaceful, political and diplomatic means in accordance with international law.
During the conversation, the sides also addressed recent airstrikes targeting Azerbaijan, underscoring the inadmissibility of violating the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter, particularly respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
The two ministers further discussed specific humanitarian matters related to the evolving situation in the region and reaffirmed the need for continued dialogue and cooperation to address emerging challenges.
