Turkmenistan-China Relations Continue to Strengthen, Says President Xi Jinping

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping has reaffirmed the stable and deepening ties between China and Turkmenistan in a letter to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the Nowruz holiday, as reported by TDH.

Expressing gratitude for Turkmenistan’s message on the Chinese Lunar New Year, President Xi extended his sincere congratulations to the Turkmen government and people. He highlighted that China-Turkmenistan relations continue to develop steadily, with cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) progressing and engagement across various sectors expanding.

“I attach great importance to the development of China-Turkmenistan relations and look forward to maintaining close cooperation with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to further enhance mutual collaboration in all spheres, enriching our vision of a Community of Shared Future between the two nations,” President Xi stated.

Acknowledging Strengthened Bilateral Ties

In a separate message to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty, President Xi recalled their meeting during the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in October 2023.

“We had a warm discussion about the long-standing friendship between China and Turkmenistan, exchanged views on expanding our bilateral partnership, and reached important understandings. It is gratifying that our agreements have been successfully implemented, leading to positive outcomes in all areas of cooperation,” President Xi noted.

As Turkmenistan and China continue to strengthen their strategic partnership, both nations are set to explore new opportunities for collaboration, reinforcing their shared vision for regional development and mutual prosperity.
