Turkmenistan Delegation Explores Digital Cooperation During Official Visit to Dubai for GITEX Global 2025
Dubai, The Gulf Observer: A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Minister of Communications Berdi Berdiev, undertook a working visit to Dubai from October 13 to 16, 2025, at the invitation of the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) to participate in the GITEX Global 2025 international technology exhibition.
During the visit, the delegation familiarized itself with the latest global innovations in digital transformation, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and data management. The officials visited the main government pavilion, as well as the TDRA and Digital Dubai stands, gaining insights into the UAE’s advanced digital initiatives and governance models.
On October 15, meetings were held with Younus Al Nasser, Director General of the Dubai Data and Statistics Authority (DDA), part of the Digital Dubai Authority, and Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, Director General of the TDRA. The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in data management, digital government services, cloud technologies, and ICT training.
The Turkmen side extended invitations to representatives of Digital Dubai and TDRA to participate in the Turkmentel-2025 exhibition, scheduled to take place in Ashgabat from November 12 to 14, 2025. Additionally, Turkmenistan proposed holding bilateral talks on digital government and cybersecurity, underscoring its commitment to strengthening international collaboration in the field of information and communication technologies.
