Turkmenistan-EU Cooperation Forum Set to Commence in Ashgabat on May 14
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: A pivotal forum titled “30 years of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union: working together for the future” is slated to convene in Ashgabat on May 14, as announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov during a Government meeting held on Friday.
The forthcoming forum is expected to witness the signing of a significant Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, the State Concern “Turkmengaz”, and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). This memorandum will pave the way for the implementation of the project titled “Measures and political dialogue to combat climate change in 2024–2028”.
Thematic sessions at the forum will delve into a wide array of topics, including the advancement of inter-parliamentary relations between Turkmenistan and the EU, collaboration in security measures, trade initiatives, educational endeavors, promotion of “green” energy solutions, and the execution of programs in these spheres.
Moreover, a press conference is scheduled to unveil new joint projects envisaged in partnership with the European Union, offering insights into collaborative endeavors aimed at fostering mutual growth and development.
Concurrently, an exhibition highlighting the multifaceted activities of the European Union within Turkmenistan will be inaugurated at the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
