Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova held a meeting on Wednesday with Kurt Edwards, founder and President of the consulting company FIT International, to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in cultural, educational, and humanitarian spheres.

At the outset of the meeting, Kurt Edwards congratulated the Turkmen side and expressed appreciation for the traditional invitation extended to FIT International to participate in the events marking the 30th anniversary of the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan. He underscored the significance and effectiveness of the high-level International Forum held in Ashgabat on December 12, noting its role in promoting dialogue and international cooperation.

Both sides highlighted the long-standing and positive experience of cooperation between Turkmenistan and FIT International, recalling the company’s active participation in organizing thematic events dedicated to key milestones in the country’s modern history.

Particular attention was given to preparations for a plan of joint cultural and educational events scheduled for 2026, which will commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan. The discussions emphasized the importance of these initiatives in strengthening people-to-people ties and promoting Turkmenistan’s cultural heritage internationally.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on organizing, in the United States of America, a presentation of the book by the President of Turkmenistan, “Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygy – parahatçylygyň we ynanyşmagyň aýdyň ýoly” (Turkmenistan’s Neutrality – A Clear Path to Peace and Trust), in cooperation with the Embassy of Turkmenistan.

In addition, the sides addressed the development of cooperation along the humanitarian line, with particular emphasis on establishing links between the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and relevant organizations in the United States.

The meeting reaffirmed the mutual interest in further strengthening partnership and expanding cooperation across a wide range of humanitarian and cultural initiatives.
